Holiday Cocktails

Holiday white russianI'm Dreaming of a White (Russian) Christmas

2 oz Vodka
1 oz Coffee Liquor
1 oz Heavy Cream
Layer over ice

When my Mom wanted to be "fancy" for special occasions like New Years or an Anniversary, this is the cocktail I remember her having.

There are numerous recipes for this including adding Bailey's, Coffee and Simple Syrup, but this recipe is based on the classic. I like the more clear rocks glass so you can see the fun swirls as you add the cream. Here we used our Black and Gold Darts rocks glass and Red Square Cocktail pick for a pop of color since there is no garnish.
Festive twist: Replace the coffee liquor (or Kahlua) with Frangelico for a hazelnut finish. You can also substitute a peppermint vodka or schnapps and a candy cane garnish for a more minty palette.
Grinch Holiday Drink in Retro Rocks Glass
Merry Grinchmas

1.5 oz Midori
1 oz Limoncello
Fill with Sprite, 7-up or Lemon Lime Soda
Layer over ice

The glowing green makes this a fun and festive cocktail and it's easy to make it into a mocktail for the littles and non drinkers!

If the kiddies want a "cocktail" too, just use a lime kool-aid mixed with the soda, or add a dash of pineapple juice if you really want to get fancy. For this cocktail we used our Red and Black Retro Squares rocks glass and Red Glitter Starburst Mini Picks for the cherry garnish to show off the bright green crafted cocktail.

Mistletoe Manhattan

2 oz Whiskey
1/2 oz Cranberry Juice
1/2 oz Sweet Vermouth
2 Dashes Bitters
Splash of cherry juice if you like sweeter
Shake all in shaker and pour over ice

A warmth that brings comfort and nostalgia. Make one while putting up the tree and decorating! (Add the fireplace ambiance to really get in the mood!)
To bring in the spirit of the season, I chose our Green Square in Rectangles Whiskey Glass (since the drink is red) and Gold Starburst Mini Cocktail pick to hold the cherry and thyme garnish.
